Gjestfrie. Ble tatt godt i mot selvom jeg var helt utslitt av å gå ca. 2 mil. Rommet var til over forventing, med badekar midt i rommet. I tillegg til eget stort bad med dusj. Veldig romlig.

Words really fail me to explain how special this property was. The attention to every single detail was exquisite. I’m a professional organizer. My business is details. I’ve never seen anything like this. Everything - even the lights on the floor that automatically come on when you walk into the bathroom - was planned perfectly when this former convent was remodeled to make a sacred space for all its guests. There was even framed sheet music in the halls to, I assume, pay homage to the beautiful music that must’ve once graced the hallways. The staff was so warm and welcoming. The breakfast buffet was like something out of a Veranda magazine spread. The breakfast was delicious. At every turn in the hotel and the room itself, we were met with a delightful and unexpected experience. Who puts this much thought into a public space? The Cookie Jar does. You made our once-in-a-lifetime trip unforgettable.

Small inn packs a big punch and should be a role model ... from the excellent breakfast a la carte (porridge and kippers highly recommended, obviously not at the same time) to the very tasty evening menu, from the luxurious room size to the little touches (cake and rum, yum), add the friendly staff and a good pint of real ale - a winner overall.

A really lovely pub with comfy rooms very close to Alnwick. We stayed here for 2 nights and ate in the restaurant both evenings. The staff were all very helpful and the food was excellent.

In the heart of Northumberland, Matfen Hall Country Hotel, Spa and Golf Estate is a true escape to a luxurious world. Everything was absolutely stunning! We're a fairly picky couple, but we have no complaints at all. Extremely well trained staff. Gorgeous property. We are going to return next year
